Acropolis di Civitavecchia, with its ancient polygonal walls, is the antique and mysterious heart of the town which has kept its original features. This town is well known as the birthplace of Marco Tullio Cicerone, Caio Mario, Marco Vipsanio Agrippa, Giuseppe Cesari, known as Cavalier d'Arpino and many others. Arpino is located in an hilly area, at 450 metres above sea level. On the left-hand side of Valle del Liri, is a town with legendary origins, and some people ascribe its foundations to Saturn or to the mythic people of Pelasgi.
